Welcome to Literary Chicks where a variety of topical online writing courses for today’s newspaper, magazine and publishing markets is on offer.
Literary chicks is different from other online courses because the courses are written and tutored by accomplished writers including best selling authors and top name journalists and writers working on publications as diverse as The Guardian, Grazia, The Daily Telegraph, Woman’s Own, and The Sunday Times.
The first Literary Chicks courses got under way in May and here is some feedback I've had:
I loved the course and it inspired me to get on and write, rather than sit there with an idea. I have been talking about writing for years but I live in a rural area where writing groups are few and far between and do not seem to operate often out of my working hours. Now I am trying to write something every night.
Kate's a pro, and it shows. She made a huge effort with the telecalls, and was very gentle and encouraging with some of the shyer members of the group.
Kate has been an inspiration to me. Throughout the course she has been supportive and encouraging, and her feedback has been personal, constructive and spot-on. She has clearly put a huge amount of time and effort into producing the course materials which were of a very high standard.
I admit I was concerned about the cost for the course because with three children and working part-time finances can be tight (as they are for most people), but in the end the course proved to be excellent value for money. My writing has improved considerably and I now have a much better understanding of the publishing industry. I really have enjoyed taking part. Sometimes writing can be a lonely process and it was great to be in touch with others who feel as passionate about it as I do.
It’s not just in the calibre of tutors that we’re different, but in the variety and relevance of the courses on offer.
All courses are delivered in an online classroom.
For further inspiration we have monthly interviews with leading authors, agents and general news of what’s happening in the literary world.
